(This photo of The Bike Church was an inspiration when friends and I stopped in as we peddled our bikes down Granada Avenue near Barrio Anito in Tucson, Arizona.)

Bicycles and their riders can be found just about anywhere in the world and Arizona, my birth place, is no exception!

There are many places to ride bicycles, but cycling in my home state of Arizona, has offered miles of road for training, right outside my front door.  When visiting Pima County, I looked up some of the bike shops in Tucson and gained information on beautiful stretches of paved roads, northwest of the city. My love of mountain biking has been more than satisfied as well. There are awesome mountain bike trails in the Catalina Mountains, as well as the Tucson Mountains. Farther south, in Cochise County, trails are known for their diversity within the high Sonoran Desert landscape. Both in Tucson, and in Sierra Vista, there are plenty of bike shops to supply me with all my cycling needs, and guide me into true adventure. Always ready, local riders and mountain bike clubs were more than willing to join in!

I will always be grateful for the years and years I lived and rode both road bikes and mountain bikes in Arizona. I captured some of my rides in this blog, but have left out so many of my bike adventures up to now.

If you have cycled in Arizona, raced in the MBAA, joined in El Tour de Tucson (road bike training tour), or participated in 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo (mountain bike race), make sure to comment below and share in the fun!

Haha! All of the above! Planning to do all of them again this year. We often talk about the old “crew” at races and events, including Sylvia Proulx, Mark Challoner, Beto Villegas, Brian Gruchacz, Brian Trader, Manu Alexander, and on and on and on!
